Your guide to Grand Bay, Mauritius
Grand Bay in the north of Mauritius is a lesure village. Visitors are catered for very well, with approximately forty hotels, plus lots of of shopping, restaurants, bars and discos within easy reach. However, in keeping with the mood of the island the vibe is relaxed and laid back. You do not have to fear a disco next door thumping tunes through the walls until all hours. It just doesn't happen here.
Grand Bay is an ideal area for yachting and diving. In land, the terrain is fairly flat and teems with wildlife. Pamplemousses botanical Garden is worth a visit but the real secret is La Nicoliere where you can see wild monkeys and bats.
In summer, (November to March) the north of the seychelles around Grand bay can get very hot, and even in the winter months the north remains warmer than the rest of the island.
Grand Bay offers the largest choice of accommodation on Mauritius. Everything from backpackers hostels to luxury resorts.
